Stent thread gone!! Help

Hi,
I had extreme pain from a kidney stone a few weeks ago. They said it was 6 mm's and had to be removed. But, I also had a UTI so they just put in a stent and booked me for laser surgery 2 weeks later.
He lasered the stone but accidentally poked a hole with the guide wire through my uteter. So, I had a new stent put in place for 10 days with a black string hanging out. The doctor said I just needed to see him in his office and he'd simply pull the stent out with the black thread.
WELL......the thread was getting shorter and shorter and this morning it was GONE!!! It is completely inside of me now and no thread to be seen. I am terrified that I'll have to have surgery now just to get the stent out. Plus the surgery wait time is SO long and I would have gotten this thing out in a few days otherwise.
Do you think it's possible to get the stent out even though the pull thread has migrated up inside of me?

One time I had the black string come off of the stent. My urologist used her light and it took her a little bit but she was able to get ahold of it no problem. It was just a little painful because it took a couple of trys to get ahold of the stent. No real big deal though. My suggestion would be to take something to relax before you go in to the office if you can. The removal happens so fast normally that you don't even realize it took place and your done.

Thank you SO much for your reply!! I told DH I don't care what he has to stick in there to pull it out, I'll take the pain just to rid me off this dreaded stent and avoid another surgery.
You have no idea what a weight you've lifted off my shoulders. So hopefully this will be out on Monday!!
