I am trying to eat more veggies and drink a lot of water. I am anemic and take the arenesp shot every three weeks in addition to the daily iron tablet. If I don't get enough sleep at night, I am less energetic. Hopefully the kidney restore will give me more energy.
Yes, diuretics can raise your creatinine, but it is much better than having fluid accumulate in your chest and not being able to breathe. Like I said before, many herbs have strong medicinal properties than can interfere with your meds and actually cause damage to your system. I was in your shoes at one point (I've since had a transplant) and I did a lot of research into herbal preparations. The problem is that the claims they make typically are only true for people with very mild, acute kidney problems. Especially with people like us at a creatinine of 5.5 (I was at 10 before I went on dialysis) is that many of the minerals in these preparations are no longer filtered by our kidneys and they can build up and cause damage in other organs.
If you want to try this stuff, make sure that you get regular blood work done so you can mark your progress (good or bad). Also, don't get your hopes too high if you do see a drop in Cr. I don't want you to be too upset if it doesn't continue to go down. I know that you know that the levels tend to fluctuate. Also, don't forget to check your BP regularly too.
