Kidney Stone/Groin Pain

I am scheduled for lithotripsy on Tuesday. The last two days I have had some groin pain - not bad, just there and nagging. Feels almost like a groin pull. I know the stone is in the ureter. Is this a commong place for the pain to occur given where it is? When I first started this it was all in my back as the stone left the kidney. Most of the time I do not have much pain. We have been working in the yard -lots of planting, hauling, etc. so that may have aggravated things. The stone is 8mm thus the lithotripsy. Just worried that this could rev up before Tuesday.

Thanks, glowing4

Re: Kidney Stone/Groin Pain

I'm new to having kidney stones, and mine is much smaller than yours, but YES groin pain is part of the process. I've even had pain shooting down my leg into my foot. Thankfully the darn thing is moving closer to my bladder and the pain is not so bad and is not bothering my leg anymore. I can't imagine having one 8mm.....

Re: Kidney Stone/Groin Pain

Glowing - I usually get groin pain right before the stone passes so keep your eyes out - you may need to cancel on Tuesday - for good reasons.

Re: Kidney Stone/Groin Pain

I have a question...I have been having pains from the area of my ovaries on and off during the last month. I thought I was going to start my period but have not. During my regular obgyn appt on Wednesday she went ahead and did an ultrasound since I do have a history of cysts on my ovaries but she said they were fine. Could this pain be caused from my stones starting to move? The last time they were looked at in March they were in the bottom of my kidneys...It is not stabbing brutal pain I have experienced before but just annoying. Also I have been having pains in both kidneys but it is like I have not drank enough water. I do have an appt with my urologist on Thursday and did not want to try and move it up unless it might be something serious.

Terry
