Getting back to normal life...

They say that we can get back to our normal routine within a couple of days after litho but, I have to tell ya, I'm in a lot of pain! I don't know if it's the stone or the stent, but it's hurting and when I told my uro about the pain from the stent he pretty much guffawed at me and said that people live a perfectly normal life with a stent in their heart. I didn't like that answer

Also, I'm not passing any more pieces in the last couple days and I HAVE been passing some bloody mucous. Is that normal? I haven't read anything about that in any literature about the aftermath of lithotripsy.

If anybody knows please tell me!

Thanks so much!

Re: Getting back to normal life...

I only got back to my normal routine and life when my stent came out!!! I knew the stent was causing me alot of pain and discomfort. I could not stand for any length of time, I felt like I had a major UTI at all times, could not sleep-- I was a complete mess--I was totally unable to live my normal life. The first time I mentioned this stuff to my uro, he sort of ignored me.... a few days later, I was determined that he totally understand me and that I needed the stent out ASAP. He did agree and once the stent came out I was back to the old me in no time at all. The lithotripsy isn't the big deal, it's the stent!!! Good luck in getting that thing out!!

One word comes to mind and it is spelled like custard but the first 2 letters are BA.

I didn't like that answer

Nor do I. Obviously he never had a stent - maybe he should try it "just for fun"

Also, I'm not passing any more pieces in the last couple days and I HAVE been passing some bloody mucous. Is that normal?

It's not exactly common but it does happen, not to worry. It happened with me. There is some trauma when the put the stent in and this it what causes the bloody mucous. As long as it is only "Some".

I haven't read anything about that in any literature about the aftermath of lithotripsy.

If anybody knows please tell me!

Everything you said! Ditto! Sounds like the stent is my prob, then. Ugh! I hope I don't have to go longer than the 2 weeks after litho!
