in my earlier post I spoke of father not sure what was going to be the outcome of IVP after two attempts to remove stones with Lithostripsy and possible kidney failing.
Today, monday oct 15th, he got the results back from the doctor on the IVP test. It showed the dye did actually get thru the kidney so there is still some function in the right side, how much is unknown.
Kidney stones were confirmed as Uric and had shown to shrunk in size (possibly), now at 2mm x 7mm somewhere in there. I think this was a combination of several stones in one space of the kidney that doctors have tried twice to bust up and remove with the Litho method.
Doctor recommends he gets a third Lithotripsy once they get the UTI cleared up and see what happens.
Has anyone else gone through this many Lithotripsy operations on the same kidney and what was your success?
I really thought that after reading about these horrible stone creatures that this being the third time they would have gone for more aggresive measure like PCNL to take care of them once and for all. Not that I think it would be an easier solution but at least have a chance to remove some of it for sure.
Hope the heridetary part of this stays out of the family from here on.
