I had my kidney removed almost 2 yrs. ago. My remaining kidney is dysfunctional/failing, but I'm not in full blown failure yet because I would be dead. I
will not go on dialysis and transplant is not an option in my situation. Everyone is different. Chances are, you will be just fine.
I've just been dealing with this severe, never ending pain for 27 yrs. and I've had enough. My kidney problems started when I was 9 and I'm now 36. My family doesn't agree with my decision, but it's mine. I know it's a little selfish, but the quicker this hellhole of pain ends, the better. The decision to have your kidney removed is obviously a huge one to make. You just need to educate yourself about the pros and cons and get some counseling, if you need to. Talk to us, ok?
