| Re: Please help with kidney stone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
It can very well be the same stones on the way out. Relax we can get you through this.
First thing - stay active. Do not let the stones resettle in your kidneys. Second drink plenty of water (3+ liters a day) over the next few weeks and this should be water and not much more then that. No cranberry juice, no teas, no sodas, and absolutely no died drinks. If at any point the drinking causes more pain, slow down the pace but keep going. You may (should) add some fresh lemon juice, lime juice, or lemonade concentrate to your water.
If you are nauseas eat ginger and salted matzoh or crackers.
Twice a day you should drink at least half a liter, wait ten minutes and then elevate your hips higher then your head for at least 20 minutes. Slowly get up from this position and stay active.
If you are having spasms and you are not pregnant, try eating plenty of parsley. (In no way should this be done even if you suspect you are pregnant).
Try not to take any medicines that thin the blood. The pain killers you were given at the er should be non blood thinning and try to take some anti-inflammatories on a full stomach!!!! Ask your pharmacist if you are not sure if any over the OTC meds are blood thinning (I can't remember the list off hand). Pamprin actually works good when passing stones as it is a pain killer, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmatic all in one.
If you get a fever see a doctor.
Good luck, I'm here if you need me or have any more questions.
Been there too many times to count--
2+1 not 3
