What is Hypocituairua? My Dr's have told me something about my kidneys not filtering citrate well then have told me i have uric acid stones. Is that similar? Sara- I have been in the same boat. I passed 2-4 stones a week during my pregnancy and my OB told me to stop coming to the ER- because he didn't want me to start likeing the pain meds too much. What a jerk. So I switched to a new OB and she was so sweet and sympathetic to me about it all. I had to be put on a pain pump at the end of my pregnancy for a week- thank goodness my daughter was okay. Almost everytime I had a ultra-sound on my kidneys it showed 10-15 stones in each, too. Ever since I continue to pass them about 4 or more a month. I hate it and now see a pain management specialist because I was tired of getting attitude from my urologist for asking for a small amount of hydrocodone each month. I don't like taking the Uricit K either and haven't really noticed it helping. I go on and off it. I feel bad all the time, nauseaus and in pain all most all day everyday. Have they found any answers at all why you are doing this and if you can make it stop? I'm afraid that it is ruining my kidneys but, the Dr's say it won't as long as I keep an eye on it. I don't believe that. I know I have so much scarring already---I'm afraid of one day loosing my kidneys and/ or being put on dialysis. Hopes this makes you see you are not alone. I'm knew on this site and have never before met people with my same problem. My Dr told me he has only had one patient like me and that man is in his 70's and only made like 60 stones in his whole life. To make matters worse, I allergic to Toradol (the anti-inflamitory they give for kidney pain) and IVP dye (iodine) they put in your vains for CT's to see the stones better -most of the time they can hardly see my stones so I never no how many I have at one time-other than the pain and we rarely can break them up. This was long winded sorry.
