| Low Vitamin D reading and kidney stones???
I am wondering if anyone might understand the relationship, or assumed relationship, between a very low Vit. D blood serum reading (13) and the development of kidney stones? I have had 6 calcium stones in the past three years (2 passed, 2 litho'd, two still in place) I know that Vit D is crucial for calcium absorption, could it be that with the low D the calcium was not being absorbed but rather deposited in the kidney? I also just found out I am allergic to cows milk and have suspended all dairy. My doc now has me on 3000 IU of Vit D a day now...
I am just confused about how all this might affect the dev. of stones..or not? Any clues???
