This is the first time on this site, so I don't know if I'm even posting in the right area but-- I woke up this morning with blood in my urine but felt fine. with some encouragement from the girls at work, I called my dr. and went in-- they did a urine test and said that my urine show a +4 with protein and they did a blood test. My glucose level was 102 and I am not diabetic. They are having me do a 24 hr. urine catch and set me up for an IVP in a few days. They said it is a kidney scan. My father had severe diabetes and passed away from renal failure 2 months ago. I am scared to death! I need some feedback from anyone that might know anything about this. Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I just wanted to say that there is a newer type nutrient that is fairly new to the USA, it's serrapeptase, which is a silk worm enzyme, there is some posts in the alternative health board and in the vit. Supp. board. But, this stuff is suppose to take dead proteins out of the blood, not sure if this is why you are getting it in your urine or not, might be something to look into and share with your doctor.
Protein is a pretty important part of your blood. It literally stops the blood leaking out of your veins. You are allowed to loose around 150 mg of protein a day through your urine. If the filters in your kidneys get damaged they let a lot more protein into your urine causing a condition called proteinurea. The count for 24 hrs lets them know how serious the loss is. I've been losing around 3000 mg a day. I had a kidney biopsy to determine the problem . It turned out to be minimal change disease. My kidney filters have become very thin and just let the protein thru. The treatment in my case is high doses of prednisone for extended periods. My last count was down to 1800 mg a day so I still have a way to go to reach the 150 mg. Steroids suck but I have no options at the moment. Best of luck with your tests. Ron.
Idunno, If I were you I'd look into this silkworm enzyme stuff, it doesn't react with medications. It is a good option to filter out the dead protein in the blood. This would help take the load off of your kidneys.
