| Re: Kidney Stones
I'm sorry, but I'll have to disagree about the fact that it would have to be an excruciating pain to be a kidney stone. I have been having kidney stones at the rate of about 4-5 per month for the last three months, with at least one per month for the last year. Sometimes they are absolutely excruciating, and take days to pass. Other times the only time I am even aware I have a stone is when I have blood in my urine or when I actually pass one. It really is strange. The first stones I had were the most horrible, awful pain I have EVER had. And, I agree, most of the time they still are. But sometimes, they just sneak up on me. Sometimes, they are just little nagging pains and I am not sure if they are kidney stones or not - and then, sure enough, they turn out to be so.
I have had many lithotripsies (sp?), am on a potassium supplement, watch my diet, drink citrus, etc. Unfortunately, these stones just seem to be multiplying at an alarming rate. For me, I am thankful that some of them are NOT excruciating. I would not be able to live through it at this point.
