kidney cysts - Kidney Disorders Message Board

I have come across your forum and it looks very interesting. i was wondering if anyone could be of any help to me.

i started 1 1/2 years ago with upper left back pain that radiated down left arm. i went through the whole drill. ortho, physical therapy, mri's, nerologist, emg/tests, etc. upon one of my test they found a lesion on my liver. upon further testing (MRI) they found a 10.3 cm cyst upper left kidney lobe and a 7 cm bilarterly cyst in my kidney.

my pain comes like a stabbing knife in the back....it seems to never go....it gets worse with sitting at my desk at work, and it's gotten to the point where laying on my left side is not tolerated.

even though the pain is consistent it does have it's better days, and then days where i don't think i will make it....

the last doc i seen was a GI who was seeing me for reflux disease and he ordered the MRI..he seems to think that i need to see a neurosurgeon...i've explained to him that i've been that route and i can't do that again....he doesn't seem to think this pain could be coming from the cysts.

any ideas....

Are kidney cysts something to worry about? My husband was told he had one. What causes them?

i have been battling kidney stones for a long time now and i can tell you the extreme pain you are feeling is more than likely from the stones
this is from the pdr
signs/symptons
Typical symptoms include sharp to severe back mid back pain,blood in the urine,painful urination, nausea and vomiting. So the chances are the pains you are feeling are from the the stones.the best advice i can give is see urologist and if he cant help you he will send to somebody who can. a couple things i can tell you to help pass them is drink lots of water. (8 to 10 glasses a day) Try using a heating pad set on low.Last but not least try to be active as active as possible.

There is a disease called polycystic Kidney Disorder. Several members in my family have it. You might want to ask your dr. It either starts when your born or shows sometime are you are 30.
