| Is the cause kidey infection?

I'm not sure if I am on the right topic, here goes.
Since I was 14 I have been getting UTI's but in the past few months it has been constant and not gone away and is worse than ever. I have tried cystitis powders to no avail.
Also from the age of 14 I have had depression and recently have felt bouts of strangeness where I feel I am going to go mad and that someone evil is trying to get into my mind and make me do bad things. I was given anti depressants which seemed to weaken me and let this thing be stronger in my head and it was scary so I stopped taking the tablets right away.
I am wondering, I know that kidney infections can cause confusion in elderly people, can it be causing this feeling of madness in my mind?
I am the kind of person who would not go to a doctor even if my head was about to fall off, experience with nurses/doctors in the past has made me want to avoid them like the plague.
Has anyone who has had kidney/urinary infections felt this strange, scary feeling of madness?
