Re: what would cause both kidneys to hurt

It could be something as simple as an infection or stones. Talk to your doctor about this. Do you have any other symptoms?

Re: what would cause both kidneys to hurt

Thank you for responding Cora! I have had stones in the past, but never on both sides at once! I just thought it was odd. Still today I have the pain, it is nothing intense, sort of a dull/ache, but pretty constant! I know I need to see my doctor, just have no time to do so...thanks again! gina

I've also had bad headaches recently and chills/no fever. Probably are not related.

Re: what would cause both kidneys to hurt

You could have an infection UTI) or a blockage in your urerter. I have been through allot of problems with my kidneys. I just has a urertal reimplantment surgery. Your urerter drains your kidney into your bladder. If it is not draining well it will make your kidneys hurt. This isn't that common. Your probaly more likely to have an infection. You should definately get it checked out though. You don't want to delay when it comes to your kidneys.
