Swelling Pain below left breast - Is it a symptom of kidney problems?

I'm getting worried. 2 weeks ago, after quite alot of alcoholic drinks (approx 2 glasses of wine, and 6-8 shots of tequila), I developed a swelling pain right below my left breast. I brushed it of as a muscle twist/sprain since that night I didn't sleep in a comfy position and felt the pain just as I tried to change my sleeping position. The pain subside after 2-3days. Few days later, after another night of drinking (approx 1 vodka, 2 beers, and 6-8 single vodka on ice), and right next day another 4-5 single vodka shots, I felt this same uncomfortable swelling pain at the same spot. I do drink alot of water daily, and each morning after heavy drinking, I always have 500ml of isotonic drink at least. I do pee alot after and felt that the toxins get flushed out coz my pee is clear.

The pain this time round persist, and hurts when I cough, when I move, when I breathe.

Also, I have been on a diet-pill prescribed by the doc which has diuretic effects. (which is also why I drink tonnes of water) Makes me pee almost right after each glass of water and interval between each visit can be as short as 10min. Sometimes I have to hold back peeing as I could be on the road driving.

Plus, I'm a bar owner for the past 6 mths, and have been drinking practically every other night, mostly whiskies/beer/wine.

Is this possibly a kidney failure? I have no other pains nor symptoms besides that! Will drinking more water help to flush my kidney and relief this pain or is this something acutely alarming that I should get it checked?

Tks!

No but it could be a heart issue. Your heart is under your left breast. your kidneys are in the back just about where your ribs are. i would go see a dr. have you had any kidney testng done? for creatinine or a gfr test if the dr is concerned?

It's less likely that it is kidney, but with all that alcohol, it certainly could be liver related, or heart related as the other poster suggested.

The bottom line is that you should see the doctor about this and not let it continue.

Best of luck.

This sounds more like a pancreas issue to me. Especially if you are feeling it after drinking. Go see the doctor, because you don't want to mess around with it if it is your pancreas. In the interim, you should probably stay away from alcohol.
