4cm mass on Kidney
Hi, I went for a scan a about a week ago as i had an annoying pain in my right
side for awhile. Results came back that i had a 4cm mass in my right kidney i am now waiting for a CT scan next week. Should i be worried about this?

I hope your CT scan went well. I, also, have a significant mass on my kidney so I understand your anxiety. I am scheduled for surgery soon and will have a partial nephrectomy. I am very anxious; have to have faith that the physician can take care of the issues. I wish you well.

Hi. I've walked in your shoes. My 4 cm mass in my right kidney was found by accident in May 2011. I had a partial nephrectomy on July 14, 2011 ~ they were able to just remove the mass, which was renal cell carcinoma. So I'm a cancer survivor 2 weeks post op & feeling better every day. Try to keep yourself as healthy as you can before surgery and after. Do some internet research too. I'll try to post more when I'm on my computer later. Think positive thoughts.
