i took a urine test and it showed positive for a kidney infection, i got given antibiotics and that was that, now, nearly two weeks later, i'm starting to feel worse, my back is in pain, my kidneys ache, my nails are pale, what could this be?
What type of antibiotic did you take? Did you take it properly for the amount of time the doctor told you to? You could be resistant to the antibiotic and may need something different. A UTI will cause your kidneys to ache something awful. Have you rechecked it for an infection?

What kind of antibiotic did your doctor prescribe? I have had UTI/kidney infection, they are painful. But since you have been on meds for two weeks, it should be getting better not worse.
You need to go back to the doctor or at least call them and tell them what is going on. You could have a kidney stone or it could be that you need a different medication.
I had a UTI one time that lasted two months, which is very unusual, but I think I waited too long to go to the doctor, so it took a while for it to go away.
Are you taking baths or showers? My doctor told me to take showers as long as I had the infection. Of course every doctor has a different opinion on how to treat things..
I hope you feel better soon.
hugs

I have a 12 year old grandson that has a kidney stone. It takes a couple of days for the meds to start working. If you don't start getting better in two more days I would call the doctor again.
ah okay, the doctors is closed over the weekend but i think im going to go back on monday, im taking amoxicillin? thankyou so much i really appreciate this!!
