I have been back and forth to the drs since mid-late May. The first week of May I started getting lightheaded every time I stood up. I thought for sure it was B-12 deficiency. Well..it is now Mid July and I have this every day, sometimes just when I stand up, sometimes while sitting. My vision seems to be getting worse (I had been blaming that on moving into my 40s), I cannot hold my head in an upward position because I develop a pressure at the base of my skull. I sometimes get a "full" feeling in my head. This is not vertigo. I have had that before...I don't feel "dizzy" everything isn't spinning...I feel like I am going to faint. A couple of times (twice in the last two days) I get these really sharp, "shock-like", pains up and down my spine that last a second. Swelling all over but especially legs. I have been told my Aldosterone is off and they put me on meds to try to increase it. I have been given two B-12 shots and am taking extra iron supplements. I have also been increasing some salt intake ( I NEVER would add salt to any food). NO CHANGE!
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. This has been every day for over 2 months and I feel like I am going crazy! Suffering from foggy headed, confusion which is starting to cause some depression.
This is quite interesting. I have many of the same symptoms as you. I am nearing fifty years old. My problem is with heavy metal poisoning, and possible kidney problems, although my visit to the nephrologist, and subsequent testing, showed nothing appreciable off. It has been suggested that I have my renin-aldosterone levels tested, as these hormones(?) are very important in electroylte-water reabsorption in the kidneys. Keep us in touch, this will be most instructive.
