post pyeloplasty - and still have hydronephrosis

I'm 3 months out from a pyeloplasty that I'm afraid didn't work. I saw my surgeon today and he tiptoed around the subject with comments like "maybe you just think it hurts because you know it's there..." and comments about phantom limb pain.

My ultrasound shows moderate hydronephrosis. I drink a lot of water and it gets worse. I probably sound like a smart alec from my first paragraph, but I'm not stupid or faking it: I know when it hurts.

He says give it longer because it will probably go down. I am going to another town to get a second opinion I think.

Anyone have advice?
