Re: Stage 3 Kidney Disease
I, too, am in Illinois. Where are you at in Illinois? I see a specialist in Champaign-Urbana, who says that my kidneys are stable for the time being. What have been your symptoms? Do you feel fatigue, changes in urination, protein in urine, etc? I would say that once one reaches the levels that you have, there has been appreciable damage to a number of individual nephrons. There is some ability for the kidneys to accomodate changes in functioning nephrons, but again, at your GFR level, you should not expect too much of a change for the better, unless you were suffering an acute case of kidney failure. You are suffering chronic kidney disease, so the best to hope for is a stabilizing over time.
