| Kidney stone pain
I have a 5mm kidney stone in my lower ureter (scan was 10 days ago) and was advised to drink water/take painkillers and see if it passed. I'm due for a follow up/scan in two weeks time. I'm still getting lower abdominal pain, it's nowhere near as painful as the initial renal colic. The pain comes and goes many times throughout the day but NSAID painkillers don't seem to do anything much.
Does continued pain usually mean the stone is still in the ureter and hasn't passed out into the bladder/out of the body? Does the pain go away quickly once it has passed?
