Hi, I have just discovered I have a GFR of 57 mL/min, well below the normal range of around 80-120. I read this denotes kidney disease. My GP ordered tests in June but didn't get back to me to discuss this, and I found out inadvertently. From what I read, it sounds like this could be a conern. Can anyone tell me more about this please? Thank you.
I wouldnt worry to much. Make sure you don't take any medication that has an anti-inflamatory in it as these can reduce your GFR. I was on diclofeac for a month last year and my gfr dropped to 29 but on stopping the tablets it went back up to 47. My nephrologist says that as long as I am stable in the 40's I do ot have to see him. So just listen to advice give and yo should be OK.
