Knee pain from skateboarding

Hello, I'm in my mid 40's and recently started skateboarding pools again. I'll give you a little background on the issue. After skating for about an hour, my knee will swell and feel stiff. Back when I was just getting back into it, I would have to walk with a limp. It's gotten better but now when I just cruise around and get warmed up I do have pain that I can't put too much pressure on that knee. After I've warmed up a little, I can put more pressure on it.

What I've been reading is that since my leg is getting back in shape, it needs to rebuild and that the muscles are pulling at my knee and that's what's causing the stiffness. It's just my left knee (back foot on skateboard) that's having the issue. My right knee has 0 issues.

Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone gone through non surgical knee procedure?
