Hello Everyone, Aren't you glad we finally got our own board? After almost 10years of being misdiagnoses about having my back fused (whick made no sense to me because my back didn't hurt - just my legs)and ending up in a wheelchair (I'm only 58) and was VERY ACTIVE. I went to a spine spec. and he told me I needed both hips replaced ASAP. That made sense to me. So on Dec 9th I had my first THR. I hate to tell you this but as soon as the numbness from my waist went away I was in agony!! I started sobbing and it took them almost 2 days to get the pain under control. But that was because I had such a pain tolerance built up from being in pain all those years. Also like the other lady said rhey make you get up and walk on the very first day, they are forever turning you or fussing with you etc. But all of that lasts just a very few days and it get LOTS better really quickly. That is why, like her, I decided to get the other hip replaced so soon. It will be replaced on the 26 of May. Yippee i o!! Here we go again. And to throw that blasted wheelchair to the winds was a wonderful. So keep your chin up, let you family help you. Hell, let anyone who wants to help you to get right on ahead!!!! If you have any question just ask! See ya, Mary
