leg and and bottom pain

Wonder if any one out there will know what this is.
For about 5 weeks I had very bad pain in my legs, and calf muscles.
Then 2 weeks ago, I woke up with very bad pain in my right hip, and accross my lower back, going down to my bottom, and my legs, and my ankle.
I could not walk very well, and had to crawel every where, 2 weeks later, I still have got it, now it is going into the lower pelvec area.
I find it hard to walk, and at night time, I have a job to put my leg out stright, and lie on the leg, it is now going into my left leg.
It hurts all the time, could I have pulled a muscle, also my back has been aching.
any answers to this.
Thanks

Boomerue

Pain from a hip can sometimes be felt elsewhere, but that is only one possibility. I think you should get this checked out by your doctor. This does not sound like it is getting better. In fact it sounds as if it is steadily getting worse, in which case you really need to find out what is causing it asap........

Boomeure......I agree you need to see a doc. I am not sure if
I understood you correctly....does the pain radiate down both
legs or just one? The pain you are describing sounds in my
opinion for what it is worth, to be sciatic pain and can really be unberable at times. The sciatic nerve runs across the buttocks and down the side of the legs all the way across the ankle to the foot. The nerve can be impinged by a disc in your back or a tightened piriformis muscle that irritates the nerve. A tight psoas muscle can cause this. Check with your
doc or a good chiro. Karen

Re: leg and and bottom pain

Thanks guys for your reply.
The pain is siatica, it started off in the right leg, into the right bum cheek, down to my ankle like I had sprained it ,could not stand the pain, have never had anything like this before, seems to be into my knees, and cant stand for long.
My hubby said that he gets it, and his lasts for 5 days, I have had mine nearly 2 weeks.
Can anything be done for it is it a muscle strain .
I work in a Hospital, so I do a lot of walking all day, I work in the Catering.
Would it also give you pain in your pelvic area,a very heavy dragging feeling, like you get before your peroid, not that I get them any more went through menapause at 41.
It also feels like my leg muscles are so tight in the calfs.
Thank you

Re: leg and and bottom pain

Boomerue, a couple years ago I could have written exactly what you have written -- had the same symptoms and went through lots of theories, herniated disk, piriformis syndrome, sciatic entrapment -- finally got hip X-rays and I have pretty advanced osteoarthritis in that joint. My point is that it can be a lot of things and only a doctor can tell you -- and be smarter than I was and ask your doctor to check EVERYTHING and get an X-Ray right away... Good luck.
