Ok, I have to admit, I know NOTHING about the knee. I don't know my ACL from a hole in the ground. I have NEVER had any kind of knee problems at all, ever. And, I am a pretty active guy. I hike, run, bike, played football and basketball, etc.
BUT...
For about the past 2-3 months, I have had this pain in my right knee. The left one is fine, no pain at all. I am 29, male, and kinda overweight but nothing too bad.
My knee doesn't hurt normally. I can touch it and poke it all over and no pain at all. I can stand with all my weight on it just fine. I can hop on it, no pain.
What does hurt, is when I shock it, like say running. Or when I bend it and it has pressure on it. I can squat on just my left knee but the right one feels like it's gonna buckle when I do. Also, it hurts to peddle or walking up or down stairs. Sometimes it hurts so bad that I can't even hold it out straight sitting without dropping my whole leg to the floor.
So far, the only real things I have done are ice it, put icy hot on it and take pain pills. If I don't do anything it doesn't hurt, but if I do anything on it, it hurts.
The crazy thing is, I didn't do anything to it. I didn't hit it, bend it wrong, bang it, nothing. It just kinda started one day. I have looked all over these boards and not really found anything like what I have. I don't have any popping or grunching or anything either.
Help would definitely be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Mmkay, looks like I am the only one who cares about my poor knee!! LOL.
Ok, so, after doing a lot more research and self probing and tests, I don't think it's my knee at all.
The grunching I talked about is in the other knee too. It does it when it bends.
What I think it is is the tibia. More specifically the tibial tuberosity. It is so sore, tender to pressure and from what I read it basically has the same symptoms as a meniscus.
Waxing and waning pain. Pressure. Bending and squatting. Walking up and down stairs. Shock. That sort of stuff.
So, I will keep icing it and taking pain pills. Could it be an infection? Should I do anything else about it? I am about 99.9% sure now it's not my knee.
