I had my fourth hip replacement in 2003 and a constrained prosthesis was used. This failed in 2006, just a little over three years after it was put in. I was told at the time of insertion that my hip would not dislocate again. This was after several painful dislocations and many trips to ER to get it "fixed".

My question is, Has anyone else had a failed constrained hip prosthesis? If you have would you please post to this site so that I can compare notes? Thanks a lot.

I am totally frustrated at this failure. I guess it would not be so bad if this hadn't been my fourth replacement in 8 years. It is affecting my work (am now disabled, and that's not all it's cracked up to be) and my social and romantic life.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
