Hip problems 2 yrs after THP

I am a 70 year old male who had THP two years ago. Went through physical therapy and all the follow up exercises. To this date I am unable to lift the hip replacement leg more than 1 inch off the floor while sitting. If I sit or stand for any length of time I have pain in my groin when i start to walk. If I cough or sneeze I have the same pain. I walk about two miles nearly every day and have a slight limp but not many problems walking. My doctor insists that it has nothing to do with the surgery but I wasnt haveing this problem prior to the surgery. Have any of you had similiar problem? Any suggestions!

My father has similar groin issues, but is definately not walking as much as you are. He is 73 and seems to have the same problem with pain after sitting. Actually it takes him 1-2 minutes after standing up before he can take his first steps. He uses cane or walker 95% of the time. Instead of repeating, i have a topic entitled " 2 1/5 years after THR - Pain Continues". As his son, it is very hard to watch.
