Re: why do my knees ache when I sleep?
I have advanced osteoarthritis in both knees and my knees ache when I sleep. What I do is make sure both knees remain a little ben during the night. I have some pillows that I keep under the covers. If on my back I keep the pillows under both knees. If on my side I keep at least one of them between my knees, and by habit they remain bent a bit. The worst pain I can have at night is if I find that I've been sleeping on my back with no support under my knees. That hurts bad.
I really hesitate to take any meds for this during the night because I've always felt it's kind of a waste, since I hope to go right back to sleep. I try to save them for the daytime when I really need them. But there's always an exception, and then it's good to have something on hand just in case.
Hope this helps...
