THR in South Georgia - Knee & Hip Problems Message Board

Hi, I am new to this so stick with me. I'd like to know if anyone has had A THR in South Georgia? Is it okay to ask about specific surgeons? I'm due to have one in July and I read so many different results, most excellent, but none from my area. I have talked to some people here but no one as of yet that has been to my OS. Please help- I have lots of doubts, fears, etc.
Any thoughts about what to look for in a surgeon. How do I know I have the right one. He does over 200 joint replacements annually.
After reading many of the posts here and on other sites, I found many differences in the way people respond to THR, making me think that the variables have to be the surgeon and/or the product used to replace the joint. Any comments will help.

Ask other doctors,nurses at the hospital that you will be going to,PT people that your OS will have you use.These people know.
I knew that I was going to have the surgery about 6 months in advance. I did my Dr. research then made an appt. with him.It took 3 months to see him .When he saw my x-rays he said this is really bad and he started to explain the THR. I said Doc I already know that. I am here to ask you to do the surgery.He called the nurse in and started the ball rolling.I have no regrets about my choice.
