.I did not have tendon release. I don't know if it makes a difference or not but I didn't have microfracture either.
I had the arthroscopy in August. I haven't had any problems at all and only very slight discomfort ( I didn't even need pain meds after the first day).
Probably the most experienced OS in hip arthroscopy did my surgery. He literally wrote the book used in medical schools on hip arthroscopy, developed the coding system adopted by AMA, and holds patents on a number of instruments used in the surgery.
He thinks in the future OS should consider hip arthroscopy before hip replacement, just as knee arthroscopy is considered an option before TKA. It is a much more technical surgery than knee arthroscopy. The reason it is not preformed more is not many OS have the training
