| Problem With 10 Year Old Hip Replacement
The total hip replacement was wonderful for about 8 years. No pain at all. I played hard tennis, walked around the golf course and danced a lot. Now I am experiencing some pain. It started gradually about 2 years ago. I controlled it with IB profin. Its getting progressively more painful. I am still very active but I can feel each step. Usually it is a dull ache and If I try to move quicly, I will get a stabbing pain. I have have it xrayed 2 times in the past 2 years. They showed everything in place. The last Dr. I saw said that when I can't stand in anymore to come see him. I don't want to wait until I can't stand it too look for a surgeon. I am in the process of looking for a Dr. who has had experience reduing old replacements. I am not sure what they must do? I don't want some inexperienced Dr. doing exploratory surgery on me. If anyone has had experience with this I would appreciate knowing what they did to make it better. Thanks for the help.
