My whole body takes turns to give me pains... started with ankle an knee
I don't know what is going on but I've been having pain at different areas of my body. Once one becomes better it moves to another. I wonder what kind of doctors do I need to see. I don't want to go to a doctor that tells to rest.
Background: I'm 46 approaching 47 and I like playing basketball and have played regularly (once to twice a week) since ~ 20 years old. I am not very coordinated and had numerous twisted ankles and some knee injuries. When I was younger, I started playing usually less than 2 week of ankle injuries, knee might take longer at 1 - 2 months. I also had an athroscopic (spelling?) knee surgery about 12 years ago. As long as I kept working on leg extensions regularly, my knee was fine.
Probably starting on 2004, I had foot pain. It would last a few weeks and the level of pain were almost like you twisted your ankle and it swelled too. The location changed as days progressed. Same thing with my knee. Out of no where, I started having pains like I just got injured. Lately it become worse. They just take turns. One after another. My left foot/ankle acted up first. Just when it became a little bit better. My knee started. After another 2 weeks or so, the pain decreased. The knuckle of right index finger swelled to 1.5 of its original size (it was an area that might had minor injurie of its own when not catching ball right). Just a few days after that, the knuckle of the pinky started swelling like crazy. Every once a while my hip would give me pain that I can't put too much pressure on one side while walking or going up stairs.
As you can see, it seems different parts of my joints are failing on me after working hard for 47 years. Should I go to a doctor or is it just an aging process that I can't do anything about it? What are the exercises, diet I can take to help my situation?
I appreciate a lot for your suggestions,
