Heavy feeling in hip 9 months after THR

Hello, Am new - would appreciate some help.
My mother had a hip replacement 9 months ago, since the surgery she has felt a sensation of 'heaviness' in the hip.
OS did not take much notice to begin with, told her it would take some time for body to adjust to prosthetic hip, after initial healing (plus physio) she has felt this heaviness persistantly.
Most recently complained to OS on follow up visit and he suggested it could be bursitis, she had cortizone injection last Monday but heavy feeling persists.
She describes it as though there is a brick strapped to her leg.
It is seriously hampering her recovery, she cannot walk with any degree of comfort, she has done all her prescribed physio.
OS says he does not know what is wrong if its not bursitis.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and if so what was the diagnosis.

Her prosthesis is metal, not ceramic, it is cemented in place.
OS says everything looks fine mechanically but this 'brick strapped to leg' feeling continues.

Any advice/thoughts welcome please.
