chip in my knee

i was out throwing football and hit knee to knee with another person. I felt and saw a loose body in my knee. I felt i pop back and it stopped hurting. Is this somthing i should go to the dr for, or should i wait and see what happens with it. Its not bothering me much anymore, but i know i wasnt lying to myself when i saw and felt a loose body.
