Mark ...I have a question. I live in LA and have a resurface of my right hip. I have taken people to see my doc as well as
Joel Matta, who is the biggest surgeon here doing the anterior
on the profix table. He is excellent and it is a good surgery and i am glad you are doing well. Could you tell me what was
implanted into your hip ....what type of prothesis? Metal on
metal, metal on poly or ceramic or what type and brand..

Dr. Matta is who put my hip in... Actually I think it was a Johnson & Johnson Ceramic on Metal Hip..

Glad to hear that you had a successful Surface Replacement... I really pondered about this.. I think once more people start doing the Anterior Approach and using Surface replacement, this will be a great marriage. To have what the surgeons have told me a bone conserviing implant and then having a muscle sparing procedure like the Anterior approach. I think many surgeons that I visited were learning the technique or had done a few, but I wanted to go to someone that has performed alot of them.
