I had a latheral release done by arthroscope in july of this year. My surgeon told me said i had patella maltracking and that he preformed a latheral release to correct this.He also told me i had osteoarthritis. I already have this in my right knee. Since the operation i have been unable to get my knee to bend properly.I have been going to physio weekly since having this done and am doing exercises at home. My physio can't find a reason why my recovery is so slow she hoped i would be back in the gym and playing football by now. Also when i was walking the other day i felt something tear in my knee, i had some swelling but it's hard to tell how much as my knee has been swollen since the operation. When this happened a sharp pain went through my leg and i have had quite alot of pain since. I am finding it hard coming down the stairs as it feels like my knee is going to give way and i have a grinding/rubbing feeling when i'm walking. I was with my surgeon 1 month after surgery and he discharged me and said i knew where if he was if i had anymore problems. I have rang him and he doesn't seem to bothered. I am thinking of going for a second opinion. Is there anything i can do to relieve my pain and get my full range of movement back. I was used to exercising daily and playing football weekly now i'm doing nothing and i feel like i'm going to go mad that nobody understands how this is affecting me. Has anyone had this problem before?
