I have patella subluxation and my orthopedic doctor wants to do surgery. He wants to: fix a damaged ligament, break and realign the bone, and release the lateral. I did physical therapy a few months back, and now, the pain is worst than it was before. The Orthopedic Surgeon suggested that I go back to physical therapy before we try surgery, but I'm concerned that it will be painful since I'm in pain even when I'm sitting, standing, or walking.
Does anybody have advice about if I should go to PT again, or go straight so surgery? Also, I'm only 14, so is it true that i would heal quicker than if I do the surgery when i'm older? thanks!
