Fairly mild knee pain after backpacking - Dr. visit?
I went backpacking a couple weeks ago and endured a pretty arduous hike. I didn't fall/twist or in any way incur any injuries during the hike, but a couple days after I returned I started to get a general pain in my right knee. While I wouldn't say it's extremely severe, it does definitely impair my walking, and running has been out of the question.
The pain itself occurs only when I bend the knee, and seems to be localized just below and to the right of the knee cap. The only other thing of note is that the leg itself seems to want to twist just a bit, with the right foot turning outward, which lessens the pain a little.
I think it has improved a little over the past week and hope that it will just heal itself pretty soon. I don't want to be stupid, however, and will go to the doc if it's really called for.
Thanks for any feedback!
PS: I'm only 24 with no history of knee trouble.
