Knee replacement

My 76 yr old father had a knee replacement which developed a bacterial infection. He had the prothsesis removed and a placer put in its place for 6 weeks. He has now had further surgery to put in another prothsesis. He has developed a haemotoba near the wound. Why has this happened and does this seem like another problem?
