| Recurring Knee Problems
Hello,
I'm 17 years old and I've been having problems for a while now.
History:
Tore right ACL when I was 12, tore r. meniscus in early 2005, had arthroscopy in later 2005, arthroscopy in 2006, arthroscopy and ACL reconstruction in 2007, arthroscopy in 2008. The last 3 operations were again due to torn cartilage needing to be removed, but there was no defined accident to tear it. At this stage I have no lateral meniscus left, and very little medial. My surgeon has applied for corticosteroid injections into the joint.
However, I'm wondering if these problems are more than just injuries. I've been developing pain in my left knee, I've had no injuries to that knee. It's getting to the point where I can't walk to school (20min) without pain that night, I can't exercise, can't sleep, and am now taking pain and anti-inflammatory medication several times a week. My surgeon said there is no quick fix for this, but I don't think he quite grasps the gravity of the situation.
Any help would be appreciated.
