I have MS and I had surgery to repair a plica band in 2005. Now pain is back and my primary doctor says there is no swelling but my tendons behind my knee are spastic, which he thinks is MS. I have pain most of the time but sometimes it will completely go away and then a few weeks later, return. My tendons seem to draw shorter during the night and getting out of bed is painful until I can get them to stretch.
I'm now to the point where bending my knee is soooooo painful. I have to lift my leg to get it in the car, it won't bend right to walk up or down stairs and getting up from a seated position is horrible. So I guess my question is, is knee pain constant or intermitent?
I'm beginning to think that my "plica" problem in 2005 might have been MS instead. There was no MRI to dx it. After scope surgery, my knee atrophied and I couldn't straighten the knee for six weeks. Even with 3x's PT a week. The only thing that straightened it out was a cortisone shot. I think I have a real problem going on. Also, the pain shoots up into my thigh and down into my calf and into my foot. Does that sound like "normal" knee pain to anyone? Thank you for any help
