Restriction Question--Crossing Midline

I'm not about 5 months post surgery and still being very cautions about bending, twisting etc. I am now working out at the gym and my trainer, who has worked with knee replacement patients (I am her first hip) said she thought I would now be able to bring my operated leg across the body while doing some exercises. I told her that I thought the no crossing midline was a fairly permanent restriction.

What have others been told by their doctor? I will probably call his PA and ask for clarification.

In the meantime, no crossing midline for me. plenty of other moves I can do at gym to get exercise.......

Re: Restriction Question--Crossing Midline

Hi Larimergirl:

I have been wondering the same thing about the mid line restriction and don't remember what my hip surgeon said, if anything. Please do let us know what you find out. I am going to see my surgeon soon for the post year anniversary exam and will ask him, too.
