when i woke in the hospital after my THR, they had me on morphine. A needle in my vein. I pushed a button to administer it when i had pain. This gave me strange visions and thoughts. I was seeing things that weren't there and thinking I was somewhere else. Lucky my wife was there to assure me that these things were all in my head. Then we told the doc what was going on. he immediately dis-continued the morphine and put me on oral percs. things slowly got back to normal for me. Doc said a lot folks have hallucinations when morphine is administered thru the veins. So, if anyone is going in for THR, this might be something to think about.
