Patella Femoral Syndrome & VMO
I've been having quite a bit of trouble with my knee and around 12 days ago I underwent an arthroscopy. The surgeon found no sign of any cartilage or ligament damage, but when I went back to see the physio a few days after surgery she saw he had noted damage to cartilage on the back of the kneecap.
The physio I saw this time confirmed the surgeon had noted patella femoral syndrome is the likely cause of the pain. I've previously been through physio to treat this so I'm familiar with VMO exercises, but I'm not sure if I'm correctly isolating the VMO. When I go through the range of exercises I was given I have a real feeling the thigh muscles are taking charge and being strengthened over the VMO.
Does anyone have any advice to help me isolate the area of muscle I'm trying to get at?
