| Anyone familiar with this knee replacement procedure?
My husband needs a total knee replacement. He has been putting it off until he reached age 65 which is today. His pain has obviously gotten worse but not bad enough for him to go onto any medication which is another reason for the delay in surgery. He knows about the pain that he will be in after and says if he isn't in much pain now, why do it?
Regardless, his Orthopedic Surgeon said that he would use a Stryker knee. In the meantime a friend of our has had a procedure that we've never heard of. In his own words this is what he said ....... "I had a Johnson and Johnson, Depuy, Sigma. Using cement, not bored into the bone. it has a maximal knee flexion angle." He had a very quick recovery and said that he had more than 130 degrees flex.
I've tried to look into this but have found practically NOTHING concerning this procedure. Is anyone out there familiar with it? Does it last as long as the normal procedure? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
