Looking for any information on Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy in regards to scar tissue. I tore my ACL and meniscus 20 months ago and have had 5 scopes since then. Seems I make scar tissue fairly rapidly and they had to go in a couple times to clean up the adhesions which then led to an infection.
I do have some experience now with the Wound Vac system and the Hyperbaric Chamber to heal up the infection site.
It has been 13 months since my last surgery and I have limited range, 15-95 degrees which is barely functionable to do my job. Running is slightly doable but nothing you would want to watch.
Dr Noyes in Cincinnatti seems very knowledgeable about arthrofibrosis and is willing to go in again to try to gain some more range. (Previous surgeries performed in Columbus, Oh) Before I do that I was curious if anyone has used the FSM to break up scar tissue? I found a bunch of sites that claim it is effective, but they are all from clinics that use it in their practice. After 5 scopes I am a little cycnical and rather talk to the "horse" so to speak.
I have an appointment with a chiropractic clinic who does 1 hour treatments for $140. From what I understand I will need 5-10 visits before I get any noticable results.
Any help is appricatiated. i also wonder if I should pursue purchasing a machine since the closest place I found is 1.5 hour drive.
