| Post op Avascular Necrosis lesions still causing problems
I had both knees replaced in 2007 due to AVN. In the last year, the knee pain has returned. My orthopedic surgeon showed me recent x-rays that prove that I still have active AVN lesions around the implants and that the lesions are getting larger. During surgery on my left knee, he had to put in stems as well as the replacement knee because of the damage to my bones. Now, I feel like I’m back at square one with terrible knee pain and lack of mobility. When I asked my doctor what could be done about this, he said that he did not know and that he’d only done one core decompression in the last ten years and did not know if it helped the patient at all because the patient moved away.
Has any one had a similar experience and, if so, what was done to remedy the situation? Because of this and terrible back problems, I can not work and am starting to have some very bad financial problems. I need to find a doctor who understands AVN and this kind of situation. Please help!!
