Can someone please tell me what this type of knee injury is called?
Hey everyone. My boyfriend had a severe injury to both of his knees at the same time back when he was in high school. Here's what happened. One of his tendons or ligaments basically snapped and his patella slid down the front of his leg to where it was on top of his lower leg. This, of course, caused him excruciating pain and he even began to go into shock. Thankfully he was at home when it happened and his mom was able to call 911 and have him taken to the ER in an ambulance. He ended up having to have knee surgery done on both knees in which from what I understand, they basically screwed both of his knee caps back in place. This happened to both of his knees at once. He told me that when it happened, he was simply walking through the house and all of a sudden his knees buckled on him and he fell to the floor in excruciating pain. He also told me that his knees had been weakened because he had exercised his knees too much or something and I guess he had caused a repetitive stress injury to them. Anyway, if anyone knows more about this kind of knee injury and what it is called, please let me know.
