Talking TKR funny stories

OK, folks. It's time to put a stop to our pitty-parties for a while. Let's share some wierd experiences related to our new knees.

Here's an example: I read about someone learning how to get their underwear on by playing 'ring toss'. This image is still with me months after my bilateral TKR. It makes me smile every morning as I get dressed.

I'm sure you have similar goofy experiences to share.

Let's hear them!

Thanks,
Lynn

Re: TKR funny stories

I thought of another one.
A physical therapy asked me, "where's your bowling ball?"

She explained that I need to think of my head as a bowling ball, and to keep it balanced on my neck to improve my posture.
If I let my bowling ball fall forward or back, it would mess-up my posture.

So ... now I always remember to ask myself, "where's my bowling ball"?

Re: TKR funny stories

... and here's another I thought of today.

My office is in the basement of a very large building. It's a long walk from one meeting to another.

Sometimes my body forgets how to balance on my new knee and I end up flailing around for a step (or two). Anyone watching must think I'm dancing to a song in my head.

It's not painful -- but certainly entertaining.

Re: TKR funny stories

Oh, yeah -- here's another .......

I have a colonoscopy tomorrow morning.
That means tonight is my 'prep' time.

My husband is trying not to crack up when I have to HOP UP FROM THE COUCH and HOBBLE-REALLY-FAST to the bathroom on my new knees.

I still have trouble getting up from sitting, so this is really entertaining for my husband and the dogs.

>>sigh<<
